Emergency aid deliveries to Rohingya Muslims
Islamic Help has launched a major emergency appeal to help the Rohingya Muslim population of Myanmar (Burma).
The Rohingya population in Myanmar, estimated to be about 1.5 million, is among the most oppressed communities on Earth, according to the United Nations.
Denied citizenship, they are barred from accessing crucial services like medical aid and free movement.
As part of our emergency appeal, Islamic Help teams are on the ground distributing food packs and water to help families through Ramadan. We are also providing medical aid and cooked iftar meals.
The first distributions began on Saturday June 13 when 365 Ramadan Family Food Packs were given to families in Da Paing Camp in the Sittwe region of Rakhine State.
The following day a further 110 further food packages were distributed in Ohndaw Gyi village for widows.
A televised live emergency appeal was held on Islam Channel on Sunday June 14 when donors from around the world contributed to the campaign.
Islamic Help will continue distributing essential emergency aid to the Rohingya population during Ramadan. Please support our appeal. Donate today.
