Universal Children’s Day

Each year, 20th November marks Universal Children’s Day – the perfect time to consider how you can help young people in need across the world. This day is a great opportunity to promote awareness and visibility of children’s welfare and issues such as access to education; issues that Islamic Help is keen to address, with your ongoing support.

Although we provide aid and assistance to children and orphans all year round, at this time of year, it’s more important than ever to ensure that the youngest members of the community are receiving the care and supplies they need to thrive. As we enter the coldest months of the year, thousands of vulnerable children are at an increased risk, many with no family, no shelter and no way of accessing the essentials they need for daily life.

Umrah for Orphans

In addition, January 2019 will mark the fourth consecutive year of Islamic Help’s very special Umrah for Orphans programme. With your generous support, we take a group of young Palestinian orphans on a journey to Mecca to perform Umrah each year. Despite their young age, many of these orphans will already have encountered a difficult life faced with adversity. Without our Umrah for Orphans programme, they would have no way of being able to make this blessed journey at all – a fact which makes your generosity all the more worthwhile.
