Volunteer Appreciation Month
What They Do
Here at Islamic Help, we recognise the hard work and efforts of our volunteers, which is why we think it’s so important to show them how much of a difference their support is making. And what better time to show our volunteers just how much we care than during Volunteer Appreciation Month, starting on 1st April 2015.
To begin with though, we believe it’s important that people understand what our volunteers actually do, and how they go about making a difference, so they too may join our proactive team.
So, how do Islamic Help volunteers support campaigns? Well, they do this by…
Organising Events
Islamic Help events are designed to raise awareness and encourage individuals to show their support for a particular campaign, whether that is through donations or our volunteer programme. All of this is made possible by our team of volunteers who help to organise and set-up events, all the while raising awareness of current campaigns.
Working on the Ground
Here at Islamic Help, we encourage our team of volunteers to #BeTheBest in order to support those in developing countries. Part of what makes our volunteer team so special though is that they are proactive on the ground in these areas of the world, as well as here in the UK. From distributing food packages to developments like the eco mosque, our volunteers work extremely hard to impact the lives of those less fortunate for the better.
Day to Day Duties
Finally, a handful of our volunteers get involved with office work in order to ensure everything runs smoothly on a daily basis. Though they may not be on the ground or at an event, their role in campaigns is equally as important and crucial to both their success and impact.
So, these are just a few examples of the work our volunteers carry out and, as part of Volunteer Appreciation Month, we thought it was important to inform our readers of what they do.
If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer yourself, there’s nothing stopping you from signing up. We welcome everyone, no matter what your age, job status or interests, to become a part of our campaigns here at Islamic Help, including our #BeTheBest volunteer programme.
See our site for more details or stay tuned for our next instalment of Volunteer Appreciation Month, where we will discuss where our volunteers work.
