Volunteer Your Time this Ramadan
There are many ways in which you can show your support and help those in need, whether it is providing a financial donation, helping an elderly neighbour or just simply offering a smile and a few kind words to a stranger on the street. However, there is another way in which you can show your support for your brothers and sisters across the world – this Ramadan, have you considered volunteering your time?
There is an old saying that time is money, and as such, it should come as no great surprise to learn that your time can be just as valuable as money when it comes to charity.
The Benefits of Volunteering
Whether you volunteer to help out at a local food bank or homeless shelter or simply want to share your own good fortune with those less fortunate than yourself, you will be actively working to spread some positivity. No matter whether you are volunteering to help people in your local community or supporting your brothers and sisters in need all around the world, you will still gain numerous rewards and blessings for following the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as outlined in the Holy Qur’an.
Although there are rewards for selflessness and kind-heartedness throughout the year, during the auspicious month of Ramadan, these rewards are greatly multiplied. Good deeds and acts of kindness such as these will be recognised and rewarded in the eyes of Allah (SWT) and will earn you many blessings, both now and in the Hereafter.
Supporting Those in Need this Ramadan
Ramadan is all about selflessness and discipline, kindness and faith. It is a time to become reacquainted with your faith and work to attain closeness to Allah (SWT) through the way in which you think and act throughout the month. From praying and studying the teachings of the Holy Qur’an to working towards a more equal, balanced future for our world, your actions can go a long way towards supporting the people around you.
This Ramadan, you can show your support for vulnerable people and those in need both close to home and further afield when you choose to volunteer your time with Islamic Help.
We have a number of current campaigns running, many of which will directly go to support our brothers and sisters during the blessed month of Ramadan.
