YouTube sensation Zaid Ali T’s UK debut for Islamic Help
YouTube sensation Zaid Ali T is to make his UK tour debut in aid of Islamic Help’s Birth campaign for Syrian refugee mothers and babies.
A star-studded cast has been lined up for the United We Stand 10-city UK tour from May 22 to May 31.
The tour has been generating huge interest and response since the announcement that its headline act will be Zaid Ali T, the online phenomenon who will be touring the UK for the first time.
Zaid, the 19 year-old Pakistani-Canadian comedian, has shot to stardom over the past year with his sketches on relevant and socially inspired topics. His video sketches have amassed around 50 million online views and a Facebook following of more than 3.5 million.
United We Stand 2015 begins in Glasgow on 22 May and finishes in Slough on May 31. It will raise funds for Islamic Help’s Birth: Supporting Syrian Mothers & Babies campaign which aims to ensure that Syrian refugee mothers suffering in the devastation of the civil war have everything they require for a safe birth.
The Birth campaign will provide funds for emergency surgery and hospital care, as well as sanitary items, baby clothes, food and items needed for both mother and child.
Zaheer Khan, Islamic Help’s Director of Fundraising and Communications, said: “This cause is really close to our hearts. Syrian mothers who now live in Jordan and Lebanon are often forced to give birth at home where conditions are normally unsafe and unhygienic. We want to combat this. “We’re confident this tour will make a huge impact to the lives of thousands of mothers.”
As well as Zaid Ali T, the tour cast features internationally renowned nasheed artists Saif Adam (UK), Mesut Kurtis (Macedonia) and Harris J (UK), with comedian Preacher Moss (US) and popular Muslim TV personality Rahim Jung (UK) as hosts.
